Dear Val, Chris, Marty and families: I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend. Since 1964, we shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and moments that I will forever hold close to my heart. A friendship that long becomes part of who you are, and I will always be grateful for the years we were given together. The occasional one too many, the time spent in an old Volkswagen with no heat. I will remember his sense of humor, and the quiet strength he showed through life’s ups and downs. Those memories are a gift that time can never take away. Please know that my thoughts are with you during this difficult time. I hope you can find comfort in knowing how deeply Chris was remembered and respected, and how my life was made brighter because he was part of it. I will miss my friend more than words can express, but I will carry our memory with me always. With heartfelt sympathy, Ern Raves

Dear Val. Don't know what I was thinking, but I inadvertently called Rick... Chris in my note of condolence. Please accept an old man's apology.

My deepest condolences for your recent loss. I had the pleasure to work with Rick for many years at Valmet. His nickname for me was jingle joints. He was a great guy. Your loss is our loss. Jack.
