DEATH NOTICE
Mr. Jean-Paul Borduas of Hawkesbury passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the age of 99.
He was the loving husband of the late Gisèle Borduas Séguin;
the son of the late Paul Borduas and the late Yvonne Bédard;
the beloved father of Louise, Suzanne, Monique, and André (Renée Arnold);
the grandfather of Marc-André, Mélissa, and Jean-François; and the great-grandfather of Samuel, Rose, Emanuel, and Olivia.
He was predeceased by a sister, Rita, and a brother, Roger.
He is also survived by several cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Jean-Paul leaves behind the memory of an upright and principled man, faithful to his values and convictions. His reserved and sometimes rigid nature concealed a quiet sensitivity, which he expressed in his own way through his love of painting and social dancing. In these moments, he found a space to open up and share, with sincerity and consistency. Those who knew him will remember his reliability, his sense of duty, and the strength of his presence. He leaves us with a legacy marked by integrity and perseverance.
The family wishes to thank the staff on the 3rd floor of Prescott Russell Residence for their excellent care.
The family invites family and friends to Berthiaume Funeral Home Ltd., 416 McGill, Hawkesbury, Ontario (877) 632-8511, on Thursday, April 9, 2026, starting at 9 a.m. A service will follow in the chapel at 11 a.m.
