DEATH NOTICE
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Doreen Brannen of Vankleek Hill on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the age of 80.
Doreen was a strong and dedicated woman who approached everything she did with determination and care. Whether she was volunteering at a community event or helping with a local project, she always gave her best and took pride in seeing things through. Kind-hearted and generous, she was always looking out for others, making sure those around her were cared for and supported. Doreen loved pickleball and made sure to always get on the court at least once a week. Alongside her husband, Ron, she was deeply involved in the community and dedicated countless hours to local events and causes.
If there was one thing Doreen loved, it was horses. Her passion for these remarkable animals never faded, and they always held a special place in her heart.
Doreen leaves behind her beloved husband of more than 61 wonderful years, Ron Brannen; her cherished daughters, Tracy-Anne (Anthony) and Jodi-Lynn (Jason); her treasured grandchildren, Chloe (Tyler) and Lexie; her great-grandson, Keegan; her brothers, Chris (Marg) and Peter (Shea); and her sister, Judy (Pierre).
She will also be fondly remembered by her many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Hawkesbury General Hospital for the exceptional care, compassion, and attention they provided to Doreen.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Berthiaume Family Funeral Home, 416 McGill, Hawkesbury, Ontario (877) 632-8511.
A funeral service will be held at a later date in private.
For those who wish, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 113, Second St. E, Lower level, Unit # 1, Cornwall, Ontario, K6H 1W5 and/or to the Hawkesbury Food Bank, 419 Cartier Blvd, Hawkesbury, ON K6A 1M4 would be appreciated.
