DEATH NOTICE
Irene Mariette Dupelle of Hawkesbury passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the age of 78.
She was the daughter of the late Samuel Dupelle and the late Alice Lalonde.
She was predeceased by her lifelong friend Adrienne Duval, as well as her brothers and sisters: Henri, Raymond, Paul, Louis, Rolland, Cécile, Florence, Georgette, Thérèse, Alice, and baby Noëlla.
She is also survived by several cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hawkesbury General Hospital for the excellent care provided.
Irène will be remembered as a woman with a big heart—generous and deeply compassionate. For many years, she opened the doors of her home to welcome and care for people with disabilities, offering them much more than just a roof over their heads: her presence, her attention, and plenty of affection.
Irène also had quite a personality! She knew how to make herself heard with her firm, sometimes authoritative tone, but always accompanied by that touch of humor that made her unique and brought a smile to the faces of those who knew her.
She leaves behind the memory of a generous, genuine, and endearing woman who made a real difference in the lives of many people.
Rest in peace, Irène. You can be proud of all the good you brought to those around you. You will not be forgotten.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Berthiaume Family Funeral Home, 416 McGill, Hawkesbury, Ontario, (877) 632-8511.
The funeral service will be held at St. Gregory of Nazianzus Church in Vankleek Hill on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The family will be present starting at 10:30 a.m. to receive your condolences.
For those who wish to do so, donations to the Hawkesbury General Hospital Foundation, 1111 Ghislain Street, Hawkesbury, Ontario, K6A 3G5, would be appreciated.
The funeral home will make a donation in memory of your loved one to the food bank.

Nos sincères condoléances à la famille et amis. Irène une femme plaisante, travaillante, aimante. Irène a travaillé longtemps à la compagnie Texturon avec Adrienne et en plus Irène faisait des ménages aux maisons privées. C’était ses bonus. Repose en paix tante Irène tu l’a bien mérité.
