After a long and courageous battle, Chantal Gauthier Hotte of Hawkesbury passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the age of 58.

She was the loving wife of Marcel Hotte;

the daughter of the late Raymond Gauthier and Annette (Gordon Villeneuve);

the beloved mother of Jacob and Alex;

the dear sister of Alain, Carole, Joelle, and Martine.

She is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, and many friends.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Berthiaume Family Funeral Home, 416 McGill Street, Hawkesbury, Ontario.

The funeral service will be held at St. Joachim Church in Chute-à-Blondeau on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The family will be at the church starting at 10:00 a.m. to receive your condolences.

Chantal had a warm, infectious smile. She was a dedicated woman, whether in her work at the hospital, on her travels around the world, or—above all—in her family life with her husband and twins. As an audiologist, Chantal practiced her profession with passion and devotion. Her patients, as well as her colleagues at Civic Hospital, held her in the highest regard and will cherish sincere and precious memories of her. Her love of travel also took her around the world to attend numerous conferences, notably in France, Germany, and even China. But beyond her professional travels, Chantal loved exploring the world with her husband and children. Together, they were fortunate to visit many places and create countless cherished family memories. Chantal will remain in the hearts of all who had the joy of knowing her, remembered for her smile, her passion for life, and the deep love she had for her family.
