DEATH NOTICE
Simone Emond of Hawkesbury passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the age of 87.
She was the loving wife of the late Jean-Claude Emond;
the daughter of the late Edouard Berniqué and the late Béatrice Brunet;
the beloved mother of Sylvie (Lee Andrews), Nathalie (Bill Ricketts), and Josée (Steve Fournier);
the adored grandmother of Serena, Jesse, Dustin, Austin, Livia, and Lucas;
the dear sister of Lucienne (the late Jean-Guy Champagne), Ernest (the late Gail), Mike (Willa), Réal (Denise), Gérard (Evelyn), Micheline (Conrad Serrurier), Monique (Lyman Howes), Nicole (Robert Asselin), and Carole (Yvon Cadieux).
She was predeceased by four brothers: Léon, Lucien, Grégoire, and Raymond.
She is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hawkesbury General Hospital, as well as the home hospice care team, for the excellent care provided.
Simone was an excellent mother, caring and devoted to her three daughters. She loved her family deeply and knew how to show her love through small, thoughtful gestures in everyday life.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, embroidery, knitting and crocheting, and cooking. She was an excellent cook who took pleasure in preparing delicious meals for those she loved.
Simone also had a deep love for nature and flowers. She paid special attention to birds, particularly hummingbirds and cardinals, which she cared for in her yard and loved to see visiting near her home.
She leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love in the hearts of her three daughters and all who knew her.
Rest in peace, Simone. You will be deeply loved and always in our thoughts.

C'est avec une grande tristesse que j'ai appris le décès de Simone. Ayant travaillé avec elle longtemps passé chez Shopper’s Drug Mart, je me souviendrai toujours de sa gentillesse et de sa bonté. C’était une personne tellement douce. En ces moments difficiles je tenais à vous faire part de mes sincères condoléances et à partager votre peine. Repose en paix ma belle Simone.
