DEATH NOTICE
Mrs. Claire Belle-Isle of Hawkesbury passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the age of 86.
She was the daughter of the late Lionel Belle-Isle and the late Marie-Ange Séguin;
the beloved mother of Sylvie, Martin, Chantal (Jocelyn Bourgon), and Jean-Louis Jr. (Ginette Sculleon);
the adored grandmother of Mathieu, Jonathan, Nicholas, and Jérémy, and the great-grandmother of Thomas, Mayson, Nathan, and Logan;
the dear sister of Jean (Pauline), Robert (Pauline), Lise (Philippe Soucy), André (Françoise), Lucien (Denise), and Nicole.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Simone and Madeleine, as well as two brothers, Yvon and Maurice.
She is also survived by three sisters-in-law—Marie-Marthe, Solange, and Madeleine—a brother-in-law, Charles-Emile, as well as several cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Claire Belle-Isle led a full life, marked by hard work, dedication, and a desire to make a difference in the lives of those around her. Over the years, she held several jobs, including as a school bus driver and as a cashier at Rozon grocery store. But it was also through her big heart and her volunteer work that she truly stood out. For more than 20 years, Claire generously donated her time to Hawkesbury General Hospital, particularly at the gift shop, whose proceeds were donated to the hospital’s foundation. She loved helping others and gave her time with generosity and kindness. Claire also had a great passion for music and especially for her favorite artist, Elvis Presley, whose songs undoubtedly accompanied many wonderful moments in her life. Claire is remembered as a generous, devoted, and passionate woman who made a meaningful contribution to her community and touched the lives of those around her. Rest in peace, Claire. You will remain in our thoughts and in our hearts.
