DEATH NOTICE
Mr. Gaëtan Ranger of L’Orignal (originally from St-Anne-de-Prescott) passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the age of 89.
He was the loving husband of Jeanne Ranger (née Lefebvre);
the son of the late Noé Ranger and the late Dora Ranger;
the beloved brother of Desneiges, Monique (the late Gilles Poirier), Laurier (Diane Bertrand), and Richard (Monique Dumont).
He was predeceased by a sister, Anita (the late Aurèle Legault), as well as two brothers: Ronald (Claudette Sabourin) and Yvon.
He is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hawkesbury General Hospital for the excellent care provided.
Gaëtan devoted his entire career to farm work, a life deeply rooted in his love for the land and a job well done. He loved being outdoors, tending to his land, and working with wood—a passion that allowed him to bring his ideas to life with his hands and his craftsmanship. Over the years, he crafted many things, including picnic tables, wooden loveseats, small rocking horses, and many other beautiful creations. Each of his creations carried a piece of him: his patience, his creativity, and his love of working with his hands. Through what he built, Gaëtan leaves behind much more than just objects: he leaves memories, traces of his craftsmanship, and a part of himself that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
The family invites family and friends to Berthiaume Funeral Home Ltd., 416 McGill, Hawkesbury, Ontario (877) 632-8511.
The funeral service will be held at St. Anne-de-Prescott Church on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 11 a.m. The family will be present starting at 10:00 a.m. to receive your condolences.
