DEATH NOTICE
Mr. Lucien St-Jean of Vankleek Hill passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the age of 96.
He was the beloved husband of the late Marie-Paule St-Jean, née Chagnon;
the son of the late Alphonse St-Jean Jr. and the late Cordélia Sauvé;
the loving father of Denis (the late Linda), Jeannette (the late Pierre J. Larocque), Richard, the late Robert, Guy (Gillian), Brigitte, and Nathalie;
the cherished grandfather of Julien, Valérie, Andrée, Guy, Mélanie, Martin, Patrick, Nicholas, Véronique, Shawn, and Ashley, and the great-grandfather of several great-grandchildren;
the dear brother of Jacques (Suzanne) and Jacqueline (the late Léo Ménard).
He was predeceased by his four brothers, Léo Sr., Jean-Paul, Émile, and Georges.
He is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Palace Long-Term Care in Alexandria for the excellent care and services provided.
Lucien devoted many years of his life to working for CP Rail. After retiring, he continued his commitment to serving others by working at Berthiaume Family Funeral Home in Vankleek Hill, as well as at Herb’s Travel Plaza.
Lucien was a kind-hearted man who was deeply devoted to his work and, above all, loved being surrounded by people. He also generously devoted his time to caring for Marie-Paule during the final years of her life.
Today, Lucien leaves us to be reunited with his beloved wife and all those he loved. He leaves behind the memory of a hardworking, generous, and deeply compassionate man who will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Berthiaume Family Funeral Home, 416 McGill Street, Hawkesbury, Ontario, (877) 632-8511.
A funeral service will be held at St. Grégoire-de-Nazianze Church on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The family will be present at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. to receive condolences.
